My brand has not been correctly set up — wrong domain, homonym, wrong entity...
GetMint detects your brand by matching the AI's answer text and the cited sources against your declared brand name, domain, and aliases. When detection is off — wrong domain matched, a homonym brand picked up, or your brand missed entirely — the fix is almost always in the domain settings: tighten the canonical name, add aliases, and declare any homonym you collide with as a competitor (or as an explicit "not us").
Common failure modes
- Wrong domain matched. Two brands share the root domain, or a competitor links to your site so the model treats it as theirs.
- Homonym. Another brand shares your name (e.g. "Mint" the color vs "Mint" the product). The model conflates them.
- Missed entirely. AI mentions your product family ("their CRM") without the brand name; the detector requires an explicit name match.
- Sub-brand confusion. "ProductX by BrandY" — the detector tags it as ProductX rather than BrandY (or vice versa).
